OVERVIEW
Christopher Greeley is an Associate in our Subrogation Department, concentrating on large-scale residential and commercial property losses arising from fires, floods, explosions, mechanical and plumbing failures, construction defects, chemical misapplications, gas and water leaks, equipment breakdowns, product liability, and other catastrophic events. He has litigated cases across the country against manufacturers, contractors, subcontractors, and utilities.
Chris holds an unrestricted Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License and has completed OSHA Construction Safety training. His general litigation experience spans residential and commercial disputes, including premises liability, product liability, personal injury, medical malpractice, business torts, breach of contract and warranty, bad faith claims, and SIU investigations.
He advises property and casualty insurers throughout the recovery process—from initial site investigations and expert engagement to litigation, mediation, and trial. Chris emphasizes efficient, cost-effective investigations and promotes alternative dispute resolution when appropriate.
Before entering the legal field, Chris spent nearly a decade as a residential contractor specializing in oceanfront and historic properties.

- Secured substantial seven-figure settlements for subrogating insurers in multiple property damage cases, including:
- A commercial building fire caused by a public utility’s failure to follow safety protocols.
- A manufacturing facility fire due to a defective conveyor belt.
- Structural failure of a the cornice on a historic Boston building from defective engineering specifications in advance of reroofing.
- A gas main rupture and fire at a historic tavern following a truck accident.
- A warehouse roof collapse affecting cheese product storage.

Achieved significant six-figure settlements pre-litigation in cases involving:
- Chemical corrosion of rooftop water tanks at a Massachusetts hospital.
- Fuel oil release at a residential property requiring extensive mitigation.
- Residential fire caused by faulty solar panel connectors.
- Water damage from a contractor’s failure to tarp a roof before a nor’easter.
- A public utility’s negligence resulting in a gas main fire at a residential condominium complex
- Defense verdict for a contractor in the Massachusetts Superior Court following a four-day trial examining the obligations of a permitholder under the Massachusetts Homeowners License Exemption.
- Represented a contractor in a federal coverage dispute, securing a declaratory judgment for the client, a defense in the underlying litigation, and an award of attorney’s fees and defense costs.
