Lina Maria Diaz

At Touro Law, Lina worked with the Education & Youth Justice Clinic servicing people with special needs, conducted legal research and drafted a due process complaint. She also advocated for the client at an upcoming CSE meeting, communicated with the Spanish-speaking clients, care manager, the school district, and opposing counsel. Lina was also an active member of Touro Law Review and served as an Online Editor.  Further, in Lina’s second year she was a selected as a 2022 NYC Bar Association Diversity Fellow.

Prior to joining the firm, Lina was selected as a 2024 Pro Bono Scholar where she spent her final semester of law school working with LatinoJustice Puerto Rican Legal Defense & Education. At LatinoJustice she helped provide access to legal education to Spanish-Speaking audiences by drafting and presenting Know Your Rights presentations. She also spent four years at a compliance firm starting as a Compliance Administrator, eventually working her way up to a Compliance Associate. In this role, Lina administered compliance testing programs to closely monitor code of ethics adherence and became well acquainted with regulations regarding the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and NFA requirements.

Additionally, Lina has had paralegal experience in two small New York City firms during her collegiate years.
