OVERVIEW
Mariam is an associate whose practice spans a range of civil litigation with a focus on life, health and disability insurance, insurance coverage, and bad faith disputes. She regularly represents insurers in claims involving denial of benefits, coverage disputes, and allegations of bad faith and extra-contractual liability, particularly in the ERISA and private disability context. Mariam also defends general liability, premises liability, and products liability claims. Finally, she has experience in representing assisted living facilities in matters involving resident care, regulatory compliance and professional negligence.
Prior to joining White and Williams LLP, Mariam was an associate at a defense litigation firm where she focused on general litigation with a particular focus on premises liability cases, personal injury arising out of automobile accidents, and trucking and transportation related cases. Mariam also clerked for the Honorable John D. O’Dwyer, P.J.Cv., in Bergen County, New Jersey where she drafted judicial decisions, prepared memoranda and Orders, and conducted legal research on various civil matters.

While in law school, Mariam participated in the Entrepreneurship Clinic representing for-profit and non-profit social entrepreneurs. She was also the Senior Managing Editor for Rutgers Race and Law Review.
