OVERVIEW
Rita Venant is an Associate in the Litigation Department with the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Rita was a Summer Associate with the firm for the past two summers. In addition, she held a Civil Division Intern position with the United States Attorneys’ Office at the beginning of this year.
Prior to joining the firm, Rita gained hands-on experience as a Certified Legal Intern with the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where she secured a dismissal, a charge reduction, a bail reduction, and had numerous bench warrants lifted on behalf of clients. She broadened her global perspective through Drexel’s Scandinavian Prison Project—exploring comparative approaches to justice and rehabilitation in Chester, Pennsylvania, and Oslo, Norway—and as a Compliance Intern with Rakuten in Tokyo, Japan.

Rita brings a mix of scholarship, advocacy, and service to her legal career. She served as a Staff Editor for the Drexel Law Review and competed in client counseling and negotiations as part of Drexel’s Alternative Dispute Resolution team. She was recognized on the Pro Bono Honor Roll for her commitment to service.
