Bill Taylor moderated a panel discussion at the Philadelphia Surety Claims Association luncheon on “Trends in Surety Underwriting.” The panel of surety underwriters from several surety companies consisted of Anthony Destra, Managing Director at Travelers for Construction Surety, David Pesce, Head of Surety at Munich Re Specialty Insurance, Steve Ruschak, Arch Surety Executive Vice President, Timothy J. Maffiore, Senior Underwriter at Surety Plus/Liberty, and Greg Horne, AVP/Contract Surety Underwriting Officer at Liberty Mutual. The panel discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on surety underwriting, the surety industry’s response to the pandemic, the current state of the surety industry, and upcoming issues and trends.
