White and Williams Announces New Office Managing Partners

White and Williams is pleased to announce changes to office leadership positions with the naming of new Managing Partners in the New York City, Newark and Providence offices.

Heidi Sorvino, Partner in the Financial Restructuring and Bankruptcy group and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, will lead the New York City office. Heidi concentrates her practice on corporate restructurings, complex bankruptcy, and insolvency proceedings. She represents creditors and debtors through all phases of Chapter 11 and 7 bankruptcy proceedings both inside and outside of the courtroom. Heidi serves as a Subchapter V and Chapter 11 trustee, managing the affairs of a debtor’s business through its financial restructuring and resulting bankruptcy proceedings.

Rafael Vergara, Partner in the Litigation group, will lead the Newark, NJ office. Rafael handles commercial disputes, insurance coverage issues, life insurance matters, and representation in incidents at assisted living facilities and nursing homes. He also has experience litigating cases in New Jersey and New York involving individual disability insurance, ERISA, product liability, asbestos and insurance broker liability.

Rochelle Gumapac, Partner in the Litigation group, will lead the Providence, RI office. Rochelle is also part of the firm’s management team as the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. Rochelle focuses her practice on complex civil litigation arising from environmental/toxic tort issues, product liability, real estate professional malpractice, personal injury, premises liability, insurance bad faith claims, and construction defect and design.
