Philadelphia and Wilmington Offices Donate Supplies to Adopted Schools
With the back-to-school season in full swing, our Philadelphia and Wilmington offices held school supply drives to support their respective adopted schools, the Laura W. Waring School and Harlan Elementary School. Over the course of the weeks leading up to the first day of school, lawyers and staff collected everything from pencils and pens to backpacks and lunch boxes to donate to local public schools. In addition to the supplies, they also wrote encouraging messages to the students to ensure they start the school year on the best note possible.
The firm's Philadelphia office has been involved with the Laura W. Waring School since October 2016, when it presented a donation for the purchase of classroom libraries. The Wilmington office kicked off its adoption of Harlan Elementary this past January with the presentation of Google Chromebooks for use in the school's classrooms. Laura W. Waring and Harlan Elementary are two of three schools currently adopted by the firm as part of its Adopt-a-School Initiative. The Initiative began in 2012 in Philadelphia as a way for the firm to give back to local communities, invest in education and provide a unique opportunity for lawyers and staff to engage through the investment of time, finances and resources.
