Randy Maniloff, Partner, was recently published by the ABA Journal for his article, “Rocky Patel's Road: From small-firm lawyer to selling 30 million cigars per year,” in which he interviewed Rakesh (“Rocky”) Patel, the CEO and President of the Rocky Patel “Sixty,” one of the largest cigar manufacturers in the world.

The article explores Rocky’s past as an attorney and how his experience in law aided him to build one of the most reputable Cigar companies in the free world, selling 30 million a year.

As a business owner, Rocky explained that his law degree has continued to prove useful in countless scenarios, supporting his understanding in contract negotiations, acquisitions, deals and more.

His brand, which sells cigars to 100 different countries every year, was designated by Cigar Aficionado as the No. 1 cigar in the free world in 2022. As so much of his sales are done across international borders, his experience as an attorney continues to be integral to his success.
