White and Williams Food Drive Supports Communities in Need

8.12.20

For the fifth consecutive year, White and Williams held a Summer Food Drive to support local communities facing hunger. This year's effort expanded to communities in each of the regions where the firm has offices. Together, White and Williams' lawyer, staff and firm contributions combined to provide 30,000 meals to those in need through eight different food banks.

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated hunger struggles for children and adults across the country. According to Feeding America, 54.3 million people may face hunger in the U.S. during 2020 due to the pandemic — including more than 18 million children. Many families are seeking assistance from food banks for the very first time, resulting in the food banks relying on community support more than ever.

Each of the eight food banks for which the firm fundraised is part of the Feeding America network, the nation's largest hunger-relief organization. The food banks serving the communities in which White and Williams has offices and to which the firm donated are the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Feeding Westchester, Food Bank of Delaware, Food Bank for New York City, Food Bank of South Jersey, Greater Boston Food Bank, Philabundance and Second Harvest Food Bank.

White and Williams remains committed to giving back through both community and pro bono service efforts.
