Hinshaw Issues 2024 Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Report: "Stitching Together the Stories of All"
The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to release our 2024 Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Annual Report. The report highlights Hinshaw's journey over the last year to advance DEI and chart a path forward for everyone, emphasizing inclusion and mindfulness. Our theme for this year's report—Stitching Together the Stories of All—pays tribute to the late Faith Ringgold, a pioneering Black woman artist-activist renowned for her storytelling quilts that interwove art with activism to champion racial justice.
In introducing the report, D.L. Morriss, Hinshaw's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Partner, noted that "Every movement for social progress required the support of stakeholders across every level. Now, more than ever, this lesson continues to ring true. DEI is for ALL."
Here are some key highlights of the firm's DEI initiatives in 2023:
- Achieved back-to-back Mansfield 5.0 and 6.0 Certifications, demonstrating Hinshaw's dedication to ensuring we meet and exceed the DiversityLab's certification requirements;
- Marked fifteen consecutive years of receiving the Equality 100 Award from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation in the 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index;
- Named a Top 50 firm in The American Lawyer Diversity Scorecard in 2023, marking four consecutive years of improvement in the Scorecard; and
- Recognized as a 2023 finalist for the Thomas L. Sager Award by the Minority Corporate Counsel (MCCA), meeting the MCCA's unique Diversity Scorecard requirements to measure firm demographics, recruiting, retention, and promotions.
