Hinshaw Announces Miami Office Move to The Plaza in Coral Gables
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a U.S.-based law firm with offices nationwide, today announced that the firm has relocated its office to The Plaza at 2811 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Suite 1000 (10th Floor), where the firm will occupy 18,000 square feet. The Plaza is a Mediterranean-style, brand new 2.1 million square foot mixed-use property with Class A retail, hotel, commercial, and residential space, which will be LEED-ND certified.
"Over the years, Coral Gables' vibrant, multinational business community has allowed us to provide outstanding service to our local, national, and international clients," said Barbara Fernandez, Coral Gables partner-in-charge of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP. "We were attracted to The Plaza because of its onsite Loews Hotel, which is ideal for clients and partners traveling to South Florida, several exceptional public art exhibits, one-of-a-kind culinary, cultural, and entertainment offerings, and unique employee benefits such as a wellness room and standing desks."
Inspired by Hinshaw's award-winning office space in Chicago and other metropolitan cities across the United States, the new Coral Gables office at The Plaza reflects Hinshaw's identity as a seasoned and established law firm with a contemporary sensibility, poised for continued growth in South Florida, nationally and internationally. In 2023, ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean named The Plaza a finalist for its Project of the Year Award, which recognizes excellence in land use and real estate development.
The Coral Gables office favors a return-to-office approach and will also offer a flexible schedule for lawyers working remotely. The new office's fresh, upscale design features modern seating, a wellness room, standing desks for all employees, and access to Solidcore, a renowned fitness studio on the premises that offers a distinct exercise experience through its Pilates-inspired workouts. Further, office lockers for attorneys and clients, flex spaces for collaboration, a serene color palette, and bold light fixtures transform the space into novel arrival zones, mobile trellises, and café/flex areas for entertaining and group meetings.
Approximately 42 attorneys and 33 staff members for a total of 75 employees have made the move, and the space includes room for growth. There are 38 exterior offices with an average office size of 130 square feet, three conference rooms for meetings, and separate areas for breakout sessions. Formerly located at 2525 Ponce de Leon Blvd. on the fourth floor, Hinshaw has had a presence in Coral Gables since 2012.
Developed by Agave, the onsite office experience at The Plaza includes outdoor spaces, public art sculptures, and the statues of two giant mice called 'Waiting' from New York-based American designer Brian Donnelly (KAWS) known for his street art, unique green spaces, and architectural features. Its entertainment offerings feature Pinstripes, a unique dining and entertainment venue that includes a bistro, bowling lanes, and bocce courts. The landlord was represented by Danet Linares, Andres del Corral, and Tere Blanca of Blanca Commercial Real Estate, Inc.
