Hinshaw Named Peoria County Bar Association 2021 Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that the firm's Peoria Office has been recognized as the Peoria County Bar Association 2021 Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year. Hinshaw partner Ambrose McCall received the award on behalf of the firm in a October 25, 2021 ceremony hosted by the Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee of the Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI).
Hinshaw was among a group of award recipients to be honored for their outstanding commitment to providing pro bono legal services to low-income individuals or charitable organizations within the past year. One of Hinshaw's notable pro bono engagements in Peoria County involves a partnership with the Peoria Black Business Alliance. Led by partners Tim Newlin and Ambrose McCall, the initiative provides free legal advice, counseling, and limited representation of African-American owned businesses in the greater Peoria area.
"We're honored to receive this recognition from the Tenth Judicial Circuit," said Jesse Placher, partner-in-charge of Hinshaw's Peoria office. "As a firm, we are strongly committed to providing our attorneys with opportunities to provide free legal help to those in need. We look forward to continuing our partnership with PILI in the years ahead."
The virtual award ceremony was presided over by Chief Judge Kate Gorman of the Tenth Judicial Circuit. During the ceremony—which can be watched on YouTube—McCall and the other honorees spoke about the personal, professional and local community benefits of providing legal pro bono services.
