Patrick McDonald focuses his practice on representing institutional and private lenders in commercial and residential loan transactions, purchases, defaults, workouts, and related litigation. He represents clients in disputes relating to real property and in insolvency proceedings in state and federal courts throughout New England.
Patrick has a particular interest in mortgages, priorities of interests in real estate, and in dispute resolution concerning the same. He has represented regional lenders and businesses in various proceedings in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
Patrick is also an adjunct professor at Bryant University in the Politics and Law department, teaching the Laws of Financial Institutions.

Representative Matters
- Successfully foreclosed on eleven residential properties across Rhode Island by representing a private lender through foreclosure, receivership, and bankruptcy proceedings.
- Secured imposition of use and occupancy bond on appeal in the Massachusetts Appeals Court following a Housing Court judgment.
- Prevailed in a title dispute involving a chain of assignments and the application of the doctrine of estoppel by deed.

Personal
Patrick has been involved in a love-hate relationship with the 1840 home he purchased in 2018. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, scoring (and attending) baseball games, hiking, bowling, cooking, baking, and engaging in overly complicated home improvement schemes.
Community/Civic Activities
In recognition of his "long and faithful service" as an outstandingly devoted Scouter, he received the Captain George Bucklin Award for Merit in 2025 from the Narragansett Council, Scouting America.
