Curtis F. Carr, Jr., is an experienced litigator with a track record of successfully handling complex civil matters in New York, Maryland, and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Curtis represents financial institutions, mortgage lenders, servicers, and investors in complex state and federal actions. He defends and protects the interests of his clients in claims alleging violations of state and federal statutes such as the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Curtis also advises his clients on regulatory compliance and assists them in every phase of litigation.
Prior to joining Hinshaw, Curtis worked as a litigator at several top-tier national and regional firms, managing commercial, complex tort, employment, general liability, and malpractice actions. He began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Jan Marshall Alexander of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County and then served as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, handling cases in one of the office’s four trial bureaus.
