While our firm is an undisputed leader in providing the full range of quality legal services to our clients, we are equally committed to supporting the education of legal professionals in Puerto Rico. To this end, we marked our 70th anniversary in 2016 by creating the McConnell Valdés/Antonio Escudero Viera Scholarship Program.
The scholarship honors Antonio Escudero-Viera, a retired McConnell Valdés capital partner and former Managing Director of the Firm. Mr. Escudero-Viera has served as Ad Honorem Professor of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law for over 45 years, teaching pro bono the Corporations Law and Legal Research and Drafting courses at the school.
Managed by the Puerto Rico Community Foundation (FCPR) the McConnell Valdés/Antonio Escudero Viera Scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.
Qualifying students receive a benefit of up to $5,000 per academic year to help cover tuition, fees, and expenses. Second and third year full-time students with demonstrated economic need, academic achievement, leadership, and a passion for community service are eligible for consideration.
