Minnesota Lawyer's 2024 Top Women in Law Class Includes Stinson's Laura Nelson

Stinson LLP Partner Laura Nelson has been recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as a member of the 2024 Top Women in Law class.

The recognition celebrates women attorneys throughout the state demonstrating leadership, professionalism and a commitment to making measurable change in the legal profession and community. Nelson's selection underscores her unwavering commitment to her clients, the firm and colleagues, and communities she inhabits. She is one of 40 women recognized.

Nelson chairs Stinson's Health Care and Insurance Practice Division and has built a strong practice focused on representing health care providers. She advises hospitals, physician groups, long-term care facilities and other organizations and professionals on transactions, governance, and regulatory matters. She also has a successful track record helping rural health care providers and public hospitals navigate their unique challenges to maintain and grow services in their communities. Beyond her legal work, Nelson is a valued mentor and leader, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment at the firm.

Nelson's commitment to serving her community is reflected in both her pro bono work and involvement in community and nonprofit organizations. She serves on the board of trustees for St. Catherine University, the largest Catholic women's university in the nation, educating women to lead and influence. She is also an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Health Law Section Governing Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association, and Minnesota Supreme Court Historical Society, where she contributes to initiatives that improve state law and expand access to justice.

The Top Women in Law honorees were celebrated at a gala event on Thursday, Oct. 24, in Minneapolis.
