Jim serves as a trusted ally to his business clients who are facing complex litigation, helping them reach positive resolutions at trial or in arbitration.
Overview
Jim has been taking cases to trial for more than 30 years. He combines extensive experience litigating shareholder, insurance, construction and intellectual property cases with deep knowledge of employment and non-compete matters. He also pursues and defends damage and injunction actions on behalf of companies.
Experience
He leverages his trial experience in the arbitration context, receiving seven-figure awards in favor of his clients in shareholder agreement and construction arbitrations.
His numerous trial wins include a seven-figure jury verdict in favor of a software development company in breach of contract/fraud action and a jury verdict in favor of a corporate client defending an eight-figure shareholder's dispute.
Going to bat on behalf of corporations, he has successfully defended cases involving employment discrimination, products liability and intellectual property rights.
Detail-oriented and inquisitive, he uncovered fraudulent evidence created by a plaintiff who was suing his corporate client for breach of contract. The discovery resulted in a win for his client and a sanctions award against the plaintiff.
Jim has successfully represented clients in appeals before the Missouri Supreme Court, the Missouri Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
