Michal has a personable approach to navigating clients through complex data privacy and technology ecosystems while handling intellectual property matters.
She has a comprehensive understanding of information privacy frameworks and norms, including the legal issues surrounding them, and applies this knowledge when crafting policies governing employee and contractor use of generative artificial intelligence technologies for general business and tech industry clients.
Michal has experience negotiating technology service agreements for clients in data storage, biotechnology, aerospace, e-commerce, retail and pharmaceutical industries. She regularly conducts thorough due diligence of data privacy and security considerations in connection with corporate mergers and acquisitions, negotiates website development agreements on behalf of clients and drafts intellectual property agreements for contractors and consultants.
A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Michal follows the latest developments involving U.S. and international privacy and data security laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, CAN SPAM, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Protection Act, HIPPA, the Biometric Information Privacy Act, the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and the FTC Act. She also stays up-to-date on state and federal privacy laws, trends and compliance issues relating to e-commerce and online banking in order to keep her clients well-informed.
Prior to joining the firm, Michal worked as a Stinson summer associate where she gained experience working on a multitude of projects spanning from litigation to data protection.
