Stephen P. Benson

Stephen is located in Chicago, Illinois and is a partner and member of the intellectual property (IP) group. He is a first chair litigation attorney with nearly 20 years of experience in IP law and related areas relevant to pharmaceutical industry and personal care product clients.

Stephen represents clients in, for example, Hatch-Waxman Act and BPCIA litigation, USPTO proceedings, New Drug Applications (NDAs), Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs), biologics and biosimilars, antitrust and contract matters, in addition to other complex regulatory matters and patent prosecution.  He manages matters from strategic design, through implementation and to conclusion. Stephen has successfully represented some of the largest international pharmaceutical and personal care product companies in high-profile, high-value matters.

Stephen has an extensive background in microbiology and physics and manages a team of accomplished attorneys and scientists at all professional levels.

Stephen received his J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law in 2005.  He received his M.S. in neurobiology from Northwestern University and his B.S. microbiology and physics from the University of Michigan.
