An Overview of HB168 and the Bona Fide Prospective Purchase Defense

Kristin Watt, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and chair of the environmental group, was a panelist for a webinar discussion on July 15, 2020. The panelists discussed the recently passed HB168, which establishes the bona fide purchaser defense (BFPD) into Ohio law. The establishment of the BFPD into Ohio law better aligns Ohio law with federal standards, and aims to encourage the redevelopment of lightly contaminated brownfield sites.
