Ohio Insurance Institute Continuing Legal Education Symposium
Vorys Attorneys John Landolfi and Chris Ingram presented at the Ohio Insurance Institute Continuing Legal Education Symposium on March 3, 2020. The title of their presentation was, “Hot Topics and Trends in Data Strategy, Security and Privacy Laws.” An evaluation of recent developments in security privacy laws, an explanation of legal data strategies. This section looked at movements at the federal level as well as state law changes throughout the country—with a focus on Ohio.
Vorys Attorneys Eve Stratton, Allen Rutz and Mitch Tobias also presented at the Symposium on March 3, 2020. The title of their presentation was, “The Road to Autonomous – Obstacles and Opportunities for the Insurer.” Insuring autonomous vehicles is the new Wild West of insurance, with numerous questions about how to quantify an unknown risk, and even what to insure: hardware, software, driver error, programming, cyber-attack risks, and the like. This presentation and panel discussion examined the historic and expected future role and development of insurance products for the personal automobile market in Ohio, taking into consideration the rapid pace of technological developments, potential government regulations, and the role of the tort system in this new frontier.
