Airey Honored with Ohio Oil and Gas Association's Patriot Award
Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is proud to announce Jon Airey, a partner in the Columbus office, has been awarded the Ohio Oil and Gas Association’s Annual Oilfield Patriot Award. The Oilfield Patriot Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the oil and gas industry in the Appalachian Basin as well as toward the betterment of the Ohio industry and the livelihoods of its workers. Airey is the first attorney to receive the award.
Airey was inducted into the Ohio Oil and Gas Association Hall of Fame in 2006 and annually presents a natural gas market report to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Energy Conference. He is Chairman of the IPPA Pipeline Safety Task Force and a Trustee of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.
As a member of the energy and environmental group, Airey specializes in oil and gas matters. He has represented numerous clients in state and federal regulatory proceedings and in connection with gas market agreements and disputes. He has defended several oil and gas producers in gas royalty litigation and represented gas users in obtaining favorable supply and delivery terms for natural gas. Airey has also represented oil and gas producers in obtaining full compensation for rejection of gas purchase contracts by interstate pipeline companies.
