Airey quoted in Zanesville Times Recorder Story on Utica Shale Pipelines
W. Jonathan Airey, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office, was quoted in a Zanesville Times Recorder story titled “Utica Shale might create need for more pipelines -- and jobs.” The story was about the increased amount of oil and natural gas drilling occurring in the Utica Shale, which is mostly located in eastern Ohio, and the pipelines that transport the natural gas and natural gas liquids across the state and region.
The story states:
“Ohio doesn't need those 3 feet wide pipelines, said Jonathan Airey, a partner and head of the energy subgroup at Columbus law firm Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease.
‘Ohio has a good situation in that regard because there are a number of significant interstate pipelines that either go through or tie in somewhere in Ohio,’ Airey said.
He expects the network to become interconnected and the gas it transports to be more local.
‘If you simply displace some gas that was flowing from either Texas or Oklahoma or Louisiana, you still have quite a bit of capacity in those lines,’ Airey said.”
