Cary Quoted in National Law Journal Story on Potential NLRB Actions

Nelson Cary, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office, was quoted in a National Law Journal story titled “Agencies gear up for Obama's second term.”  The story, which appeared in the November 19, 2012 edition of the paper, highlighted the impact that President Obama’s re-election might have on a number of key federal agencies including the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Equal Opportunities Commission.   

Cary was quoted about the changes in membership at the NLRB and what that means for employers.  The story states:

“‘The common theme is to make it easier for unions to organize or for employees who don't have unions to challenge employer actions,’ said Nelson Cary, a partner at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease. For example, NLRB acting general counsel Lafe Solomon has moved to protect nonunionized workers who criticize their employers via social media”.
