Mann Quoted in Columbus Business First Story Titled “Opportunity Zones Primed for Business”
Joseph Mann, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office, was recently quoted in a Columbus Business First story about Qualified Opportunity Zones. According to the story, the new federal tax rules have set up thousands of areas nationwide and in central Ohio for investment.
The story states:
“Joe Mann, a tax attorney with Vorys Sater Seymour and Pease LLP, said the program has begun to answer some of the most pressing transactional questions, and that’s making investors a lot more curious.
‘There are still questions outstanding. But I haven’t seen a transaction where, as a result of uncertainly in applying the federal rules, a decision was made not to proceed,’ Mann said. ‘There is always uncertainty in the law. I think for the bulk of the material questions, we have sufficient guidance that the vast majority of transactions can move forward.’
The government is still taking comments on the rules, he said, which means some of it is still subject to change.”
