Poth Featured in Law360 Story Titled “Vorys Snags Ex-Bricker & Eckler Employee Benefits Partner”

Chris Poth, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the labor and employment group, was the focus of a Law360 story titled “Vorys Snags Ex-Bricker & Eckler Employee Benefits Partner.”  The story focused on Poth’s practice and her move to Vorys.

The story states:

“‘I felt it was a better fit for my practice,” Poth said. “It's nice to be surrounded by the additional expertise.’

She works mostly on the compliance side, helping companies make sure their benefit plans are in concert with Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Department of Labor standards. Her practice also extends to tax issues, which go hand in hand with employee benefits, she said.

For example, Poth said she assisted a client with an IRS correction that ended up saving the company $7 million. She said the mistake was in the way the plan documents were drafted, and her team had to ask the agency, through its voluntary compliance system, for retroactive treatment of the changes.”
