Vorys Attorneys Elected to Leadership Roles with the John Mercer Langston Bar Association
Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is pleased to announce that three attorneys from the Vorys Columbus office have been elected to roles on the leadership team of the John Mercer Langston Bar Association (JMLBA). The JMLBA is Columbus’ affiliate member of the National Bar Association. JMLBA is open to legal professionals and law students who want to build relationships, develop their careers, and lead in the community.
Janay Stevens, an associate in the labor and employment group, was elected as the JMLBA President. Stevens focuses her practice on counseling employers in both employment and traditional labor law matters. Janay regularly assists employers in complying with the Fair Labor Standards Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and its amendments, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Arryn Miner, an associate in the litigation group, was elected as the JMLBA President-Elect. Miner has broad substantive experience in all aspects of civil litigation. Her experience includes helping clients conduct extensive internal investigations; developing compliance plans for clients; conducting and defending witness interviews in federal investigations; and negotiating favorable settlement agreements in both pre-litigation and post-litigation disputes.
Ryan Wheeler, an associate in the technology and intellectual property group, was elected as a JMLBA Law Student Mentoring Co-Chair. Wheeler’s practice focuses on brand protection, product diversion and Vorys eControl.
