Vorys Continues Expansion in Cleveland with Addition of Martin Gates
Vorys announced today that Marty Gates has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Cleveland office. Gates has nearly 30 years of experience helping clients successfully complete complex commercial financing transactions. During his career, he has represented some of the largest national and regional financial institutions and borrowers in finance matters.
“Marty is well known and widely respected in the northeast Ohio legal community and we’re excited to welcome him to Vorys,” said Tony O’Malley, the managing partner of the Vorys Cleveland office. “His experience will further strengthen our business practice in Cleveland. I am certain he will be an asset for our clients.”
Gates, who prior to joining Vorys was a partner at Jones Day, has experience representing clients in a wide variety of secured and unsecured commercial financing transactions, including syndicated and single-lender financings, asset-based financings, acquisition financings, debt financings, and real estate financing transactions.

Gates received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. He received his A.B. from Princeton University. He is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
