Vorys Elevates Five Attorneys to Partner
Vorys is pleased to announce that John Kuhl, Jacob Mahle, Emily Pan, Tyler Pensyl and Peter Solimine have been named partners of the firm.
Kuhl is a member of the litigation group in the Columbus office. His practice is focused on land use, eminent domain, and intellectual property litigation, including copyright and Lanham Act actions. Kuhl has assisted homeowners, businesses and farmers that have had their land taken by the Ohio Department of Transportation and has obtained substantial jury verdicts and settlements, including seven-figure amounts, on behalf of landowners in eminent domain litigation. Kuhl received his J.D. magna cum laude from Capital University Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Curia. He received his B.B.A. from Ohio University.
Mahle is a member of the litigation group in the Cincinnati office. He practices civil litigation and has represented parties in contractual disputes, insurance coverage disputes, and foreclosure actions. Mahle has particular experience defending corporations in False Claims Act cases involving contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense. He received his J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, as well as an associate member and the articles editor the University of Cincinnati Law Review. Mahle received his B.A. summa cum laude from Xavier University.
Pan is a member of the tax group in the Cincinnati office. She focuses her practice on advising clients regarding a broad range of estate planning issues, including estate, gift and generation skipping transfer tax issues; charitable planning and exempt organization compliance; trust and estate administration; contested trust and tax matters; construction and reformation of wills and trusts; and issues with closely-held businesses and their owners. Pan has also worked extensively with corporate fiduciaries to resolve legal and tax issues arising from charitable trust investments and administration. She received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and her B.B.A. cum laude from the University of Miami.
Pensyl is a member of the litigation group in the Columbus office. His general litigation practice focuses on business, commercial, contract, and employment litigation. Pensyl also devotes a portion of his practice to toxic tort litigation. He received his J.D. from The University of Toledo summa cum laude, where he graduated as Valedictorian and was an associate member and technical editor of the University of Toledo Law Review. He also participated on the Constitutional Law Moot Court Team. He received his B.A. cum laude from Denison University.
Solimine is a member of the corporate group in the Cincinnati office. His practice focuses on representing financial institutions in financing transactions and public and private companies in general corporate matters. Solimine represents commercial banks and other financial institutions, as well as borrowers and issuers, in leveraged finance transactions and other senior secured lending transactions. He also has significant experience with cross-border transactions, particularly in the jurisdictions of Italy and Spain. Solimine received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a member of the Michigan Journal of International Law. He received his B.A. cum laude from Vanderbilt University.
