Billington Named to Crain’s Cleveland Business “Notable Leaders in Employment and Labor Law” List

Chaz Billington, partner in the Vorys Cleveland office and a member of the firm’s labor and employment group, has been named to the 2023 Crain’s Cleveland Business “Notable Leaders in Employment and Labor Law” list.  Billington is one of just 25 northeast Ohio attorneys selected for the list.  The recipients are a “diverse group representative of the Cleveland community, and their volunteer efforts are many.”

The article profiling Billington states:

“’During the COVID-19 pandemic, Billington supported area businesses through weekly webinars and easy-to-use toolkits.

‘There have been other wins, but none greater than ensuring small businesses had access to the resources necessary to successfully navigate the most traumatic health crisis in a generation,’ according to the nomination.

In 2023, Billington is focused on partner-ships with local hospital systems.  A pro bono collaboration with University Hospitals, for example, provides legal assistance to UH patients and families with housing, public utilities, education and custody concerns.’”

Billington has significant experience advising in-house legal counsel and HR leaders on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including: the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC); collective bargaining, labor relations issues and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB); drafting and implementing employee handbooks; providing management and employee trainings; and assisting with HR related issues associated with both mergers and acquisitions.
