Shaheen Chosen for Crain’s Cleveland Business’s 20 In Their 20s Class of 2024
Vorys is proud to announce that Samia Shaheen, an associate and member of the labor and employment group, has been chosen for the Crain’s Cleveland Business 20 In Their 20s class of 2024. The publication described the honorees as “young leaders of Northeast Ohio who have already established themselves in their respective industries.”
Shaheen’s practice focuses on FLSA matters, drafting settlement agreements, and providing management and employee training. She also represents employers before local, state and federal administrative agencies relating to discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge claims.
Her background as a Lebanese-American woman has greatly influenced her career path. She told Crain’s that, as a student, she was discouraged by the lack of people like her in the legal industry. “I want to be somebody who can set a path forward for others ... who are not only female but minorities or Lebanese Americans looking to pursue law,” she said.
Shaheen is a member of the Arab American Bar Association, a member of Vorys’ diversity and women’s networks, and has represented the firm at the Corporate Counsel Women of Color conference.
