Ziance Quoted in Business First Story on Ohio’s Brownfield Remediation and Building Demo Grant Programs
Scott Ziance, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and the leader of the firm’s national economic development incentives practice, was quoted in a Columbus Business First story titled “Ohio renews brownfield remediation and building demo grant programs. Here's what to expect.”
According to the story, Ohio's brownfield remediation and building demolition programs will continue. The programs, which started in 2021, have half a billion dollars set aside for fiscal years 2022 and 2023 in the new Ohio budget that was signed in early July.
The story states:
“Often projects with the most impact require the most help, said Scott Ziance, partner at Vorys Sater Seymour and Pease LLP, and these programs open doors for community transformation.
‘The state just appropriated hundreds of millions of dollars for brownfield remediation, and site remediation. And there are a lot of economic development officials in the public and private sector sides in many states would love to have that. They're so envious of what we have in Ohio,’ Ziance said. ‘Ohio is killing it from an economic development standpoint.’”
