Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Places a Spotlight on Hinshaw's Nationwide Pro Bono Program

October 21, 2013

The Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) sheds light on the pro bono contributions of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP and those attorneys involved: Dan L. Boho, Kimberly A. Jansen and Joshua G. Vincent, in the article, "Pro Bono Spotlight: Hinshaw & Culbertson."

In the article, Mr. Vincent reflects on how he connected the needs of the firm's pro bono clients with the unique mentoring needs and enthusiasm of the incoming class of new lawyers at Hinshaw’s Chicago headquarters. Newly-hired lawyers, while waiting for their bar results, were each assigned an appeal to work on in the month of August under the supervision of Vincent, or other partners in the firm’s Appellate Practice Group. Additionally, Vincent discusses how some of these attorneys have accompanied Vincent to a meet-and-greet with their assigned pro bono clients to experience first-hand the importance of every person having access to a fair process.

In 2012, Hinshaw was awarded the first annual Howard Joseph Award by Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s Life After Innocence (LAI) project for the work that the firm has done for LAI and the exonorees that organization supports.
