Trial Spotlight: Hinshaw Legal Team Secures Complete Defense Verdict in $1.8 Million Florida Auto Injury Case
A Hinshaw legal team, led by John Weedon and Catherine Hedglon, recently secured a complete defense verdict in state court in an auto injury case in Pinellas County, Florida.
At trial, the plaintiff's counsel argued that the defendant's vehicle caused the plaintiff to fall, resulting in injuries necessitating multiple surgical procedures and medical expenses exceeding $315,000. The plaintiff declined a $250,000 settlement offer before trial and sought damages from the jury totaling over $1.8 million.
Hinshaw's legal team employed biomechanics and radiology experts to offer testimony and medical evidence that refuted the allegations of negligence and acute injury. The team also highlighted Florida statute 768.36 and emphasized alcohol impairment as a significant factor in its defense. After deliberations, the jury delivered a complete defense verdict in our client's favor.
Heather Brown, Nataliia Artemova, Fran Brozowski, and Laura Page also assisted in the case.
