On the Greg & Dan Show: Ambrose McCall Discusses SCOTUS Cases that must Decide Whether Social Media Companies Qualify for Section 230 Immunity
Hinshaw partner Ambrose McCall recently joined the Greg and Dan Show to discuss four upcoming cases before the U.S. Supreme Court which allege certain social media and technology platforms, including Google and Twitter, violated the U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act. The Supreme Court must decide whether the platforms qualify for immunity under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
McCall discusses the potential impact of these cases on content moderation practices on social media platforms. He notes that every user of social media, including those active on Google, Reddit, and Twitter, will be affected if the Supreme Court decides that the platforms do not qualify for immunity under Section 230. The hearing will begin on February 21, 2023.
