Profile

Celia Moutes-Lee focuses on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. Her practice primarily involves defending bad faith lawsuits and resolving coverage disputes relating to first- and third-party claims. With extensive experience in litigating bad faith lawsuits, Celia handles cases involving claims under personal and commercial policies, including theft, fire, smoke, water, hail, sand, floods, earthquakes, and other catastrophic events, as well as uninsured motorist claims. She is regularly retained by insurers to assist in the investigation of claims and determination of coverage, which includes conducting examinations under oath. Celia is highly skilled at investigating and litigating suspicious losses.

She has a well-known reputation for fiercely defending her clients’ rights, which has resulted in the dismissal of many cases at the pleading stage. Her achievements include frequently securing summary judgment for insurers in bad faith and insurance coverage litigation, representing insurers in the appraisal process, and co-chairing trials on these issues.

Celia also conducts seminars on various insurance-related topics, including the Fair Claim Settlement Practices Regulations, liens, and policy limit demands.
