Kayla Berlin manages pre-litigation coverage issues and lawsuits related to bad faith disputes stemming from first-party insurance policies for insurer clients. Since 2015, Kayla has focused on insurance law, achieving early dismissals and securing favorable judgments for insurers in bad-faith litigation.

Kayla has extensive experience handling litigation and pre-litigation coverage matters under automobile, homeowners, renters, and commercial property policies. She also manages property loss claims for personal and commercial policies, including water damage, fire, wind, and other catastrophic losses. Additionally, she excels in conducting examinations under oath and litigating suspected fraudulent claims.

  • Contributed to a trial team that achieved a defense verdict in a breach of contract and bad faith suit arising out of a motorcycle theft claim that had been denied due to material misrepresentation by the insured.
  • Assisted in obtaining summary judgment in favor of the insurer in a breach of contract and bad faith lawsuit arising from an automobile theft claim denied due to material misrepresentation by the insured.
  • Assisted in securing a judgment of dismissal in favor of insurer clients in a bad faith action related to the denial of a water loss claim on a renters policy.
