Natalie Burris defends mortgage servicers, major national banks, and other financial institutions in contested mortgage foreclosures, mortgage lending, mortgage servicing, and other consumer financial services litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts across the country. Her experience includes counseling on violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). In addition, Natalie represents and advises institutions with respect to unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices (UDAAP) laws and regulations. Natalie has a thorough understanding of the ever-changing legal and regulatory landscape that financial institutions encounter.

Prior to joining Hinshaw, she spent four years at an AmLaw 100 international firm based in Chicago and nearly seven years prosecuting mortgage foreclosures and handling a wide variety of financial services-related litigation at a fast-paced, high-volume firm based in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

Representative Matters

Natalie has secured several favorable dispositions for mortgage servicing clients in Illinois appellate courts, many of which resulted in the dismissal of the appeal prior to the briefing.
