Ori Shafirstein is a seasoned insurance coverage attorney with several years of experience in both commercial general liability and first-party property matters. A member of the firm’s insurance practice group, Ori represents insurers in both federal and state courts, as well as provides coverage opinions and advice pre-litigation.
Prior to joining Hinshaw, Ori practiced at two New York City law firms, where he represented clients in complex first-party property matters nationwide and commercial general liability matters in New York state and federal courts.
Ori has significant experience analyzing insurance policies and drafting coverage opinions, position letters, and related motions. Ori has also appeared and argued in court and negotiated discovery disputes and settlements with opposing counsel. Additionally, he has extensive experience in large-scale document productions in large, complex litigations.
Ori graduated from George Washington University Law School top third of his class. While in school, he was a member of the Moot Court Board, served as a mentor to classmates, and interned at the Washington D.C. Attorney General’s Office, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In those roles, Ori gained valuable working knowledge of regulatory government schemes.
