Overview

Craig is a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the firm’s technology and commercial transactions practice.  He has counseled purchasers, vendors, manufacturers and users in all aspects of technology transactions and has assisted clients in software, computer, eCommerce, generative AI, copyright, database, mobile application and confidentiality matters.

Career highlights include:

  • Negotiating Cloud platform, SaaS and data security agreements with major providers
  • Structuring and negotiating major retailers’ website platforming and eCommerce agreements
  • Counseling on Generative AI
  • Advising on e-signature and e-record laws, platforms, and policies
  • Negotiating IT outsourcing agreements
  • Drafting Internet-of-Things data services and licensing agreements
  • Representing a data replication software provider
  • Representing a major financial institution in obtaining mobile eCommerce banking solutions and fraud protections
  • Counseling multiple clients when acquiring, selling, protecting and escrowing intellectual property in commercial, lending and corporate transactions
  • Drafting variety of form contracts for technology service providers, including consultants, payment gateways, on-line merchants and digital signage network providers
  • Advising and coordinating multiple clients’ IT contracting
  • Representing numerous non-technology companies in acquiring software licenses and development, customization, installation and hosting services from key industry vendors
  • Serving as counsel to resellers and distributors of technology services and products

Craig is AV-rated Preeminent (4.9 of 5.0) by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest peer review rating of legal ability and ethical standards.

Craig is a member of the Columbus Intellectual Property Law Association.

Craig has published articles on technology contracting with InformationWeek in July 2014, with Law360 in August 2014 and with The Licensing Journal in December 2014.

Craig received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.  He received his M.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his B.A. summa cum laude from Bowling Green State University, where he was Phi Beta Kappa.
