Abby Van Grinsven’s practice is focused on aerospace and aviation, which involves advising and defending large U.S. component manufacturers, commercial air carriers, maintenance facilities, and experimental aircraft associations in disputes arising out of wrongful death, personal injury, and property damage claims. Outside of litigation, Abby also works with clients to manage risk more effectively through liability waivers, indemnity contracts, and developing best practices and procedures to comply with industry standards and state and federal regulations.
Abby’s practice also includes insurance coverage, centering on professional and commercial general liability insurance. She regularly assists insurers with coverage questions, including preparing coverage opinions, letters to insureds or other insurers, and the institution of declaratory judgment actions.

Prior to relocating to Chicago in 2018, Abby lived and worked in Washington, D.C. She currently lives with her husband and two children in Old Irving Park. Abby is an avid endurance runner and gardener.
