J. Michael Paulino represents financial service companies in complex claims involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and mortgage servicing and lender litigation.
Prior to joining Hinshaw, Michael gained significant commercial experience as an associate counsel for a privately held telecommunications REIT with assets across the U.S.
During law school, Michael became a certified legal intern for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where he handled depositions and court hearings, and took his first case to trial as second chair. Michael’s curiosity and ambition extended beyond the classroom, as he organized and facilitated classes at surrounding high schools through the University of Miami Law School’s program STREET Law. The program enabled Michael to coach mock trial competition teams and develop classes aimed at empowering youth.
